Senatobia Sports Park-Concession Worker-Part Time/Seasonal

The City of Senatobia Sports Park is now taking applications for a Part Time/Seasonal Concession Workers. Applicant must be 16 years or older. These are part-time seasonal positions responsible for accurately completing cash and credit cards sale transactions, along with filling requested food/drink orders. Sports Park Part Time/Seasonal Maintenance Worker

Sports Park-Maintenance Worker (part time/seasonal)-this position performs routine labor at the Sports Park and other city owned grounds and will be under the direction of the director of operations and maintenance supervisor. Building Inspector/Code Enforcer

Code Enforcement / Building Inspector

General Purpose

Under direction, performs field inspections and enforces municipal adopted codes and land use laws pertaining to public welfare, safety, public nuisance, property maintenance and structure design; explains regulations relating to municipal code provisions including zoning, land use, planning, design review, disabled access, historical preservation, signs and related codes to the public; is familiar with federal flood regulations; able to serve as the city’s LPA representative for MDOT; and performs related work and other duties as assigned.


Conduct onsite inspections; investigate and determine existence and type of zoning. Answers inquiries from and advises property owners, builders and the public regarding compliance with zoning regulations, property maintenance (including city owned), structure design standards and current active code enforcement; responds to citizen complaints regarding potential code violations; conducts research regarding property ownership, current and past permits and applications, and applicable codes; coordinates code enforcement actions with other City departments and other governmental agencies when necessary.

Maintains accurate, complete records of complaints, inspections, and violations; prepares periodic written reports detailing code enforcement activity and results for presentation to the Planning Commission, Senatobia Historical Commission, and the City Board and Mayor; represents the City in court; testifies regarding code violations.

Will serve as the City of Senatobia’s Flood Plain Administrator and maintain all records regarding flood maps, determinations, inspections, re-certifications, and any other flood related activities. Responsible for coordination of all City of Senatobia flood related communication and compliance with appropriate federal and state agencies.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the inspector must be able to crawl or crouch, climb or balance, stoop, and lift or move objects of significant weight or size. Specific vision abilities are required including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Mental Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the inspector is required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information and documents including maps, blue prints, and site plans; analyze and solve problems; use math and mathematical reasoning; observe and interpret situations; learn and apply new information or skills; work under deadlines; interact with staff and other organizations; and deal with dissatisfied or quarrelsome individuals. Must be able to compose, prepare, and mail business letters. Must be proficient with E-mail, Microsoft Word or equivalent word processing program, and possess basic proficiency skills using Microsoft Excel or equivalent program.

Must be able to read and interpret International Building Code.

Work Environment

While performing essential functions, the inspector will be exposed to extreme heat, cold, precipitation, noise, vibration, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and the risk of electrical shock.


  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  1. Possession of a valid Mississippi Drivers License.
  1. A criminal record check, driver’s license check, alcohol and drug screening tests will be required as a condition of employment.
  1. Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
  1. Must become a member and attend regular meetings of the local chapter of the Mississippi Association of Code Enforcement or similar organization.

$35,000.00 - $40,000.00, depending upon experience. Health insurance and retirement benefits are provided.
